Time For Everything Except God

We spend time on every other thing in life.
When we are young we spend time playing, studying, fighting, watching television and so on. As we move on to youth, we spend time searching for job, getting one, settling down in life. Later we get married, have time for loving someone, have children and then get into the stream of family life. As we move further, we bother about money, time, fame, career, savings and children's future and our retirement.
When we retire then we really wonder where life has slipped by.
We mull on the past times and still watch television, go for walks, chat with friends, sit idly and go for holidays.
Now you tell me when do we ever think of God or that power which gives us everything?
Hardly a few times do we think of Him.
When it is some festival, when we go on pilgrimages, some treks, sometimes when we visit places of worship or just when we pray for some few moments in life.
The most important time for us is when we need something desperately that we visit the place of worship or when we get in a very big trouble.
Let us see when that happens- when we are terribly sick, on exam days, on result days, when we want some job or some money urgently, in death, at birth, when we are ditched by our beloved, in sadness and pain....Get the picture!
We only need God when we want something in life.
Otherwise we are busy with our girlfriends or boyfriends, wives or husbands, children or grandchildren, relatives and the absolutely mundane world of making money and name and fame.
Sometimes we join some classes and attend the spiritual discourses but once we get out of there we forget about all those teachings.
We recollect about them when we hear someone talk about it.
Is it an off and on situation with prayers and God?
Just the way we do daily ablutions we need to revere God and think of Him at all times, just not when we need something or want to thank Him for giving something to us.
A short prayer or just a small contemplation will do.
The true seekers will spend more time learning about Him and start an enquiry.
So let us just keep in mind even if we are not serious about prayers or being a true seeker about the great Guy.
Think of Him atleast for sometime and hope He stays with you forever.
