Ma Ke Hath Ka Khana!

We heard the phrase- Ma ke hath ka khana! Are these words of some ad? All that seems so distant and faraway now! How sophistication has come to our lives! We open a can of condensed milk and make a sweet meat or a packet of noodles and boil it for few minutes! Lo and behold! Your dish is ready for consumption.  Ease and comfort has made us used to opening and popping stuff into microwave and relishing it. With the virtual paucity of time and lack of hands we have got accustomed to this method of living.  It must have all started with going to the jungles or vegetable patches to search for the right veggies. Collecting them and sorting out, washing and weeding them, cleaning and chopping, putting in the pot and stirring, simmering and sautéing, salting and tasting as the cooking went along. It must have been an extremely time consuming ordeal. Then the factor called comfort must have crept in which led to getting it readymade. But the spiral must have started in various avatars.  Then t

Same Sex Marriages

The United States Supreme Court has ruled that same sex marriages will be legit. Now, why is this news gaining so much prominence everywhere? North America and portions of Europe and Africa have legalized same sex marriages. Asia is yet to give its nod. That too will happen. So why did that happen? The answer is simply Kaliyuga.  Ma Kali rules this yuga or age as we call it. It defines the rise of women and the beginning of the end of the yugas. What are the things predicted in this yuga?  Man will no longer remain a man. He will be more feminine and androgynous in nature. He will not be able to give birth to future generations the way he was accustomed to. He will never be able to rule over women. On the contrary, he will have to become submissive and impotent in front of women. Btw, all this is not happening in one day but may take another few years, since this yuga has a balance of four hundred thousand years. It's believed Kaliyuga is about 4,32,000 years in sum total.  When a

Retire Hurt

No one retires peacefully, everyone retires hurt! Two years from now every person of my age group would be retiring and putting up his legs to relax. So what have they done which I haven't? They all saved for their retirement and planned to take pensions, travel, farm and just simply do nothing at all. So all are flushed with money, you ask?  They surely must be flushed with funds. After all, you do get retirement benefits like superannuation policies getting matured, gratuity, pension and pension funds, shares and stock certificates, government bonds, houses, bank and post office deposits, liquid cash, gold and other bullion, vehicles and house full of appliances, et al. But when you ask whether they are all provided for in their old age? My answer will be negative.  I haven't come across any human being who has enjoyed his retired life from any point of view. Be it financial, professional, personal or spiritual. No one seems to have the so called happy retired life. So you ma

Do You Eat Healthily?

Do you eat healthily? What food is good for consumption in the world today? After the Maggi attack in India, the Haldiram attack in USA, the foods consumed by people has too many defects.  What with pesticides mixed in the foods, worms in cans and lizards in sandwiches, the world is getting riskier by the minute. You look at everything with suspicion and disdain. Even at an apple you scrape the skin off to remove the wax it has on it. You look at the crab and wonder how this skinny one would be two or three kilos!  Then there are the wholesome foods people. They sell you organically grown stuff which looks green and clean. You look at labels wondering if the environment is affected or not. You look at calories and ingredients used in the product. As if you knew, you nod your head in agreement to some wanted vitamins and added minerals.  You look at packaging and presentation also. You want to see how clean and fresh the stuff is inside and yet so much more hygienic. You love it when yo

Sun And Mirror

Explanation of God from the example of sun and mirror!  Let us consider God as the Sun.  He reflects everywhere and on everything.  If you consider the moon as one great mirror, then you can see the reflection of the sun there. Moon shines.  Now consider every being as a mirror here on earth.  Some mirrors are facing the sun directly so they are showing the sun in its full glory. Those are called true believers.  Some are facing away from the sun, they only reflect partially. These are having lesser faith.  Some are facing downwards and hence the sun doesn't reflect back in them.  They are the non believers.  Some are covered with dust even if they are facing the sun. These are the ones whose faith is clouded with doubts.  Some are curved mirrors and they show the sun very big and others very small. These are the people who have more concentration of God's light in them. They reflect more or less depending on the curve. They might be called godmen or sadhus.  Those that reflect

Life Goes On?

Life goes on! This line applies to literally everything in our lives. The hiccup lasts just for a moment in time. Then you are on your way once again.  Death is supposed to be terminal and everything then ceases to be for that person. But for the rest, it's just another blip on the screen. You can write a beautiful eulogy for someone and praise them to the skies but it all passes away and you too move on.  Success and failure too are the same. Your misery lasts for sometime but you move ahead and strive once again for your puny wants. Life is a cycle of ups and downs. Sometimes you hit rock bottom but you struggle to swim and stay afloat. You survive and move ahead.  Here I am talking about survivors and not the dead and gone. I am not speaking about losers and defeatists. These miserable people love to wallow in grief till their very end. One of my aunts gave up cooking or doing any household work, the moment she had a minor accident. This happened in her late forties and she refu
