How To Thrive In Spiritual?

She asked for how to thrive in spiritual so here goes.  Everyone runs after unplugging, to discharge, to de-stress, to disconnect and to overcome the struggles, troubles and sufferings! So they suggest the relief through meditation, yoga, qigong, taichi or what not.  Now ask yourself whether these are permanent remedies or are they as temporary as your sufferings? You will know that nothing is forever so what makes all these celebrity endorsements or proof from the followers ever going to change your state?  You will be performing the yo-yo all your life. Sometimes the zen will give you high, sometimes Buddhism, sometimes yoga, at other times meditation, retreats or just some bullshitter who dishes peace and love at you. Know that even these are impermanent.  Till you are doing your yoga classes, you will feel rejuvenated and fine but leave it for a few months and your devils will be back taking you up, up and away. It's just like the lithium medicine that you take. Remove it from

Feeling Of Numbness.

What is this feeling of numbness? What is the meaning of dispassion? What makes you hate the same things you loved the most? What repulsed you?  The last time you ate fried bananas, you loved it. So today again you ordered them. You awaited the ordered to be served. Then they arrived and you were going to relish them. You cut one piece and put it in your mouth and didn't get any taste so you put in another piece. By the time you came to the third, you had complete disgust for that. You were revolted by the dish.  Similarly, you are awaiting the arrival of your best friend from his country. You haven't seen him for a very long time. You expected fireworks. He was your dearest childhood friend. You greet him as a long lost friend and in less than one day, you regret having called him to stay over for a month. You wonder what went wrong. All the idiotic things he did earlier you admired those but now you hate the sight and resent the same stuff.  You always enjoyed making love to

Keep Your Tongue In Check!

Can you keep your tongue in check? Minding your words is so important. Anger makes us say stuff which we regret later on. Our tongue has a slippery path inside the mouth and it slips every time. A man slips on a banana peel or icy water and hurts himself badly, but the words slipping out of an angered man not only hurts himself but lots of others too. It's a collective destruction.  In the debates that proceed an election, the candidates spread so much of slanderous talk that the listeners are swayed by it. A slip of the tongue can be disastrous too. Sometimes a man blurts out certain things which are the innermost secrets and hardly realizes it. But that has created a big misunderstanding amongst others.  Gossip is another big pall bearer and marriages, relationships or even partnerships are destroyed by loose talk. Betrayal happens during such type of angered exchanges.  History is filled with such kind of loose talk. Sometimes people have sold their friends and Masters by their

Eight Knots Of Life

What are the eight knots in the life's rope?  Once the great Tilopa gave an eight knotted rope and asked his disciple what it meant? Naropa who was educated in the Nalanda, told him that they meant the eight dharmas with which every human being is tied up.  These are praise and criticism. We always get so much carried by praises that we get a bloated ego sooner than we think. The moment we are criticized, we become so tiny and small that we would love to run away or hide. We never want the praises to stop. The cook believes that he has cooked the best dish and deserves a praise. But that causes the whole exercise of cooking beautiful dishes vanish. Praise has to be natural and not motivated. Also criticism has to help one become better and not feel bad or get miserable.  The next is fame and disgrace. Everyone loves to become famous, get a name for themselves and preen around. You have to watch the Hollywood Oscars to see the fake fame on show. The same turns to disgrace when your

Money For Everything!

Why does it cost money for everything? It costs money to get married. It costs money to bring a child into this world. It costs money to educate the child. It costs money to buy a decent home. To feed and wear clothes. It costs money to make money too. So what is free in this world, when every darned thing requires money to move itself??? Man strives harder and harder to make more and more money for all of the above. And then he dies not having achieved half of what he planned. Broken and bruised, he succumbs to death, unable to provide for himself or his family.  What use is this life when he always searches for happiness beginning to end? And never finds it?  Reminds you of the story of the ascetic. He goes out to beg and gets twice the amount as food. He stores the rest after partaking what he needs then. A rat comes and eats up what he saved.  To catch the rat who eats his stored food everyday, he adopts a cat. To help the cat stay with him, he needs to feed her milk. So he adopts

Gods Retribution

Is God revengeful and should I be afraid of Gods retribution? Why will God put me in trouble even after I have done so many good deeds? I am a good human being and I do only good in this world, so why do I have to bother about some god of yours? I haven't done anything wrong so why should I be afraid of some retribution?  This is how the non believers think about the gods of the believers. They believe these gods are looking for revenge and want to harm the people any which way. This is truly the worst possible way of understanding god.  Here we are talking about someone who upholds archaic laws of this world. But that is not the case.  Versions of ancient texts talk of such a kind of vindictive god. But common sense will tell us, that even humans will not be so vindictive then why is this kind of revengeful behavior attributed to some god? Do you believe he loves to torture you and enjoys doing so?  Since ancient times, floods, droughts, lightening, diseases and every other calami

Happy Birthday!

Why do I need to wish this body a Happy Birthday? I have to with love. Thank you, Suresh for this body. Here is wishing you a very very happy birthday. May the good Lord bless you and shower you His wonderful grace.  It's been thirteen long years since you allowed me to be with you. Had it not been for this body, I would not have been able to do the wondrous deeds that I wanted to do. Truly, your sacrifice has been marvelous.  We never thank our bodies for giving us this opportunity to see and experience this wondrous creation of God. We abuse and give it so much pain. We make it go through such a tumultuous journey that it becomes weaker and fragile everyday.  Giving it love and respect, we have to use the best possible tool given us by God. It has been filled with a great gadgets like the mind and intellect. Always use and return with thanks those great tools.  This body is like an aircraft or a vehicle which takes us place to place and we should keep it properly oiled and ready.

The Teddy Bear

The teddy bear was very dirty but she caught him so lovingly. Holding tight in her little arms, she hoped her father would come soon.  She knew he would come, but just before he left, wearing his beautiful uniform, he had told her to hug the teddy bear tightly and feel his presence. He took a Polaroid then.    But he never kept his promise of coming. He died fighting in the deadly war.  Many years later, she was surfing the net, she came across the same teddy bears picture of hers hugging it. The person who had put it up had asked if someone could identify this picture.  She wrote to that person sending him details about herself and asked how he came across that picture?  The man replied that their army had caught this young man during the war. He had died of severe injuries, while clutching this picture in hand. There was no identification available of his anywhere. Maybe he was working for a secret group, he thought. This young man found that picture in his own fathers effects, when

At Dead End!

What happens when you are at dead end and there is nowhere to go? You are neither a Superman, nor a Spider-Man!  Why do you say you have nothing to do, when there is so much to do? Often, you arrive at this kind of state full of stupor. You cannot think of anything to do at that moment. You are stuck up in doing nothing. You have plateaued off then.  Life was full of things to do when you were small. Then came school and you were full of childish enthusiasm to do things and you did. Then came school and you wanted to top it and sometimes you did. Then college arrived and your frenzy multiplied. You wanted to conquer the world with radical ideas and world changing theories. Raring to get working in some place meant only for the people who live life in the stratosphere, you landed a job not worth talking about.  Your first set of disappointment came the day you set foot in your new organization.  Trying real hard in convincing the bosses that your theories are the best, you wrote lengthy
