Unconditional Love

Just a few days back I answered one of my students about the meaning of love and how it disappears after the two get married. Let me elaborate here on that. Tom Cruise and Katy have a 3 year contract which they renewed this month for the next 3 years.Everyone was aghast at the terms mentioned in that. When two people fall in love they think that they can further stay in love 'till death does us part' and so they get married. Now let me tell you that marriage is a binding contract which can be terminated only by the legal recourse and not otherwise. Doesn't it clearly state that marriage is a legal and purely material way of looking at staying together! When material demands come up and legal issues crop up does it look like love to your eyes?? For me it seems like a contractual obligation and nonetheless binding on either parties by law. So where has true love gone? It has got embroiled into a legal rigmarole. So now I shall take you through the spiritual point of view. Ram

Enough Time in hand to ruin our lives!!

I read an article by my friend Rajesh on time so I thought I will share my thoughts on it. The human being has so much time in hand that he can spend it for his 84 million lives and still achieve nothing. He will still be born again and again in different wombs and still not make any efforts towards cutting this cycle of rebirths. Some of my Christian friends and others do not believe in the theory of rebirths so I will just give a small idea about it. Everything gets recycled in this universe so why not our lives? The nature also does recycle so let us hypothetically accept that we are recycled in time and lives! The Hindu philosophy believes in 84 million lives and we rise or go down in the order of evolution of species according to our past karmas and tendencies! The greatest trauma is experienced by the child when it is born. Think how would you like to be suspended in such a small space and kept upside down dunked in a slimy liquid for 9 months??That is what the human baby has to

Primer in Spiritual

The question which troubles everyone-what can we call as the primer or First Book of the spiritual? Some call it the Bible, the Koran,Bhagvad Gita and so on. Most of us have some of these great books at home and we haven't touched them except for a cursory glance or occasional read in leisure. They haven't made sense to us at all except when someone quotes them to us. Maybe at church, masjid or temples or when we have some poojas at home. Whatever the case might be the deeper meanings of these ancient texts have not percolated much in us. But the question would arise-why should we read them in detail at all now? There is a time and space when we have to read that you would say! Maybe when I get older and have nothing much to do.... So do you think that you will have time then or do you think you will survive till ripe old age and then have the stamina to read? Everyday we are going closer to death and we procrastinate and never get to doing anything at all about it! But what is t

Test that One also

When I say test that one also, I really mean that you should test out anything or for that matter everything in life before we commit to it. Take the case of the daily milk we consume...I have myself tested out so many brands before I zeroed on to the Slim Milk brand which is healthy and gives a good taste.Has lesser contents of dissolved fats and can be drunk straight from the pack if need be. Now here I will talk about the Guru's we come across in our daily life. Have you tested Him out or are you just being a foolish follower and listen to that teachings He dishes out to the hoards of His followers? You can read a book by BVK Iyengar or any other Yoga exponent and do the yogic exercises and achieve that 'high' if you wish to. If you really crave for a high you can get it by doing drugs or having booze!! And if you care for ecstasy then you can get it by sex also. Then what exactly are you getting from that dude? You are surely joining His classes for some benefits, righ
