Do Clothes Make A Man?

Do clothes make a man? Walking through a shopping plaza or a mall, you come across glitzy shops selling clothes of various styles, shapes and sizes.  During the sale, you find people jostling and fighting over a single piece of clothing too. The craze of the word "sale" is maddening. You can see the unlikeliest of a person out shopping.  How does the person buy? When the supposed discount is higher, they buy in larger quantities. Sometimes you see discounts much higher than the perceived cost of the item. Let us say a pair of shoes are on 60% discount or more then you would buy that, won't you?  Let us see now for a dress which is available for a MRP of $250 is now at 50% off, which translates into $125 and for you that is a great price. Next the store comes out with killer pricing of 70% discount and you are floored. You wonder how these people can afford to discount so much. Then the item comes to you at a still lesser price of $75 and you exult and think it is a steal.

Money Troubles?

Why is money the one single criteria for everyone's troubles? Money rules everyone's life right from the time they understand transactions.  When you have money, everyone envies you.  When you don't have it, you have a craving for it.  Money shortages can cause relationships to sour or bonds to be destroyed.  When you have money, your anxieties to protect it is much more.  When you don't have, you are worried how you are going to survive and how bills are going to get paid.  When you have it, you dream of making it more by crazy means like investment in shares and properties.  When you don't have it, you wonder whether you will have to go hungry or thirsty.  When you have it relatives come in search of you and when you don't they all refuse to recognize you.  When money flows, you can have an Harvard education and pay for it and make so much money after you finish it.  When there is paucity of funds you have the greatest difficulty to pay a common school fees to

Spiritual Illnesses And Divine Cures?

Are there spiritual illnesses and divine cures? Food, health, wealth, happiness, illnesses, cures, peace and other such needs are only for the physical bodies. Where is the divine concerned over there? The divinity is far beyond the bodies. It has everything to do with the spirit alone.  Yet, when anyone gets into spiritual, they are all concerned with their physical bodies only. People speak of yoga and healing. There are so many exponents and different kinds of healing experts who believe they are doing everything spiritual. If the spirit is androgynous and healing is done to male/female or others, then where is the question of healing? You do healing or therapies only with physical bodies. Sometimes healing is done to mental bodies too. Those are mind, intellectual, etc..   When they speak of channelling light, energy or some such objects within the human being, know that it's all about your physical being only. It has nothing to do with spiritual or divine.  On the other hand,

Loneliness

Loneliness is a very tough emotion to overcome. Human beings are social animals and they tend to flock around others of their kind. But when they become lonely, they are not able to come to terms with themselves.  Loneliness comes from various sources. When the partner dies, when there is a breakup of marriage or relationships, when children go away, when everyone opposes you, when you travel alone, when wife goes for delivery, when you leave your educational institution, when friends depart, when you sleep alone, etcetera. These and other such circumstances drives a person to loneliness. It's like solitary confinement in jails or institutions.  So what happens when a person becomes lonely? Fear grips that man, incompleteness engulfs her, deprivation strikes one, you feel everyone has ganged up against you and the feeling which comes out of this is a singular conspiracy is being played out against you! No one wants to be friends with you anymore.  When you are lonely the one who is

Spiritual Text

I never meant to write a spiritual text. I was not writing a novel or a book, but now my devotees have converted my four years of simple advice into a book.  I came to know after they had signed the contract with the publisher. I was asked to write a preface for the book and I was wondering if they just wanted to compile it for the future referencing. But when I was shown the things they had done, I was deeply touched.  These are very simple teachings for the layman. Normally I conduct personal satsangs or spiritual congregations with my devotees. I would have personally funded the book had I been in a position to do so. But since I myself live in a frugal world and have no income whatsoever I couldn't help them. I do not charge for anything at all. My teachings are absolutely free and I endeavor to teach the individual one on one. I stay atop an open balcony of a store. It's covered by tin roof and has windows too. If anyone hands any funds to me, I hand them over to the most

Lies Or Untruths?

Why is this material world full of lies or untruths? Telling the truth in the material world can cause a lot of damage to you and others. So you live in falsehood. You become so good at telling lies that it is now your second nature.  Whether you like it or not, words flow from your mouth which are meaning quite the opposite to what you actually imply.  You tell your boss, that he is the best boss in the world who has so much of compassion. What you mean is that he is the biggest jerk around, who has no brains to work for your company. You can see that he allows you to stay at home and covers up when you take off. He gives you good ratings only because you pander to his ego and help his wife shop for their groceries. It's a mutual back scratching relationship.  Your wife makes the worst cooked meal in the world and so you sometimes allow her to cook instead of buying food from outside. You are running short of funds that day so you indulge in eating that horribly cooked meal.  You

The Trap Of Maya

How do we fall into the trap of Maya? When we get into some material worldly activity, we hardly have any clue what we are signing up for. A lifetime of pleasure or pain, intermittent or continuous, fragmented or perennial. Somehow we are never told what we are getting into.  A young man falls in love with a beautiful girl. He has no idea what he has got into. He believes that he is extremely happy with his beautiful possession. He dreams of getting married and settling down. It's a tough road to get to marriage. Yet, he arrives there partially aware of what he is getting into. The expenses on trivial stuff which haven't been accounted for makes him realize that there are so many hidden things which he hardly knows about. The nuptials are just not exchanging vows or rings but bringing home a load of family legacies. They start their lives with hope and great aspirations for the future, still blissfully unaware of the impending dangers. What follows can never be documented here

Dead Walled

You are "dead walled." What is this new word? You mean you cannot see any hope, just like a cornered person? There is no escape for you now. Is that it? What is the change that can happen in your life when you have come to the dead end? Do you see any future in what you are doing? Haven't you given up? Check out these stories below and see what they say?  For many years I searched someone who could stand besides me and work with me. Mostly I found people who worked against. They have their own minds and egos to contend with. Today, when I am at the threshold of starting something very big, I am again struck with people who couldn't care the least.  I have such grand plans to put into action but there is no one who is willing to take me on. No one wants to trust me with their money. I know I am sitting on a gold mine and it will start giving rewards from day one. People don't have any conviction and faith. I have slogged very hard to get here and I am just short of

God Can Do Anything?

God can do anything, comprendez? So what did you expect to see? Some old geezer with hollowed wizened face, scrunched eyebrows, long hair, big flowing beard and long robes? You surely aren't talking of Dumbledore, right?  This is a classical description of some cool spiritual dude! I mean you expect Jesus to look like this long bearded person with robes et al? Jesus will never visit in that getup. Why wouldn't you expect Him to wear the trendiest of the clothes with the best accompaniments? Great shoes, well groomed hair and everything that makes Him the Hot Guy!   You will never recognize Him then, you say! Any which way how will you ever recognize Him then? You have a cliched and a concocted appearance of His in your mind and you expect Him to conform to that image? A modern avatar of any great persona will be conforming to the latest imagery, won't it?  I have met some of the greatest sages and been able to talk to them and recognized them. I met Tukaram who was busy exp
