The Call Of Divine.
Now it may seem that they drove all night to reach the destination and finally could get the darshan of the Lord without much efforts, all because of the advance bookings at the temple and the well planned trip. The human ego decides that their efforts paid off and they could get such superb darshan.
If there is no call of the divinity then they could never have reached the destination or got the darshan.
Many a times we are deluded so much by our own ego that we are not able to see the divine hand anywhere.
You are able to visit temples, mosques or churches or places of religious interest only because the divinity allows you to visit there. Even your visit will be facilitated by some strange methodology and you wonder at the end of it all, how it all happened so smoothly.
But sometimes you are faced with very stiff resistance and the trip itself is very difficult or you are not allowed to reach the destination. Sometimes you may reach the desired location but are unable to see that divinity or get a darshan at all. Now you need to attribute it to the same hand which guides you or deflects you.
I decided long ago that I am not going back to Shirdi ever. Though my entire family is so much connected to that saint. The holy book was written by our neighbour and my great grand mother and great grand father are mentioned a number of times in the said book. Even my grandfather! But coming back to the story, I have opted out of going to shirdi. My daughter wanted to go there, but no way could I go with her. A good friend suddenly mentioned about her sister going there the next day and my daughter was riding piggyback with them.
Strange as it may sound, but the call of these saints are very strange. They send you very discreet messages to come visit them and you somehow land up at their doorstep.
Similar is the case of other such great people or divinities. They suddenly call you to their homes or holy places.
Ramakrishna Paramhamsa is one such great soul. He will take you right up to his doorstep without any efforts from your side. I have had such similar instances ring me up and the next day I was there.
Sometimes why these things happen we have no clue but for sure there are very deeper meanings for us to decipher but we may never understand. They move mysteriously in our lives pulling us with invisible strings into their folds. Let us hope that their grace remains with us forever.
It is said that the best way to reach liberation is to keep the company of saints and holy people!
This is a photograph of Lord Krishna at a very ancient temple at Thiruvarangam 25 km from Thiruvanamalai( Ramana Maharishi's place). This image is covered with butter which he loves and is situated at the dome of the temple above the main divinity. The actual divinity inside the main shrine is over 2500-3000 years old and made of pure herbs. The reclining Vishnu is now black in color and 27 feet long. Hardly anyone visits the temple but you got to see it to believe it. I shall write more about this temple in some other blogs.
