Krishna's Promises.

The way in which the world construes that Krishna tells lies to His devotees makes Him out into a liar and cheat. The Gopi's have themselves called Him a cheat and liar many a times but that happens because no one has the complete picture anytime. They only see a facet and make immediate judgements on Him.
Here I am going to tell you how He goes out of the way to keep the promises He makes to His beloved devotees. Right from the first yuga when he gave the promise of teaching Devahuti the knowledge of Brahman, He took birth through her as a son and taught her the knowledge of Brahman. He promised the two dwarpals of His that after taking birth in the various yugas, He will come to destroy them and absorb them. He did it to hiranyakashyap and hiranyaksha. Then later to Ravan and Kamsa as well. As Rama , He met the ten thousand Rishis from His kingdom(Goloka Vrindavana) performing yagnyas and there He promised them that they will appear with Him in His next birth too. They appeared as Gopi's of Krishna in the next yuga. The promise given to Kubja that He will give her satisfaction after winning over the throne. He comes back to her and satisfies her needs too.
Now in the form of Krishna, He fulfils the promise given to Jambuvana that He will marry his daughter so He keeps her young forever. The promise was given during the previous yuga as Shri Ram. He keeps it when He meets her as Krishna in the next incarnation and marries her.
When He met Radha, He gave her the promise of marrying her so in her next incarnation as Satyabhama, He marries her. Even though it is believed that Krishna never returned to Brindavan after Akrura took Him to Mathura is not true. The intermission between capturing Mathura and from there onwards to Dwarka is left blank. Knowing that the distance between the two towns(Mathura and Brindavan) is miniscule, it is easier to go on a horseback and return in less than an hour since the distance is just 7 miles. He must have met Radha numerous times and had various interludes too. But the books are just not speaking about them, does not make hard and fast.
It is a welknown fact that Krishna lives in Brindavan even today along with His maya Radha. So the question of leaving and going away never to return does not exist. The One who went away is completely a different potency and the One which remains is a different One altogether.
All these above are just His maya and Leela's yet we tend to make Him out into a liar. He always keeps His promises and never shall He ditch you ever. The only problem is the time frame that we look at. So do not bother about how He can fulfil the promises given to you by Him. He will always keep them.
