God's Tests!

I know everyone of us feels that God tests the limits of our patience and the level we can withstand the afflictions and troubles that He has put in our path. A point comes in our lives when we feel that this is it! No more and if there is any more we shall break. How many times have we said to ourselves that I am unable to bear this and can the good Lord just take me away from this life. Can I run away somewhere or someplace? Can You take these problems away and give me answers? Can I have my little piece of heaven on this planet and some solace in my world? Just a little of that which every other person enjoys but I cannot since my problems never seem to end ever. Why have You given me this life full of trials and tribulations and no sense of joy or fulfillment in it?

Now so many words to describe it and yet they are insufficient in every which way to describe what you go through. I am sure almost all of you will agree to this ultimate truth.

Let me take you through the paces from God's point of view so then maybe you will have some understanding for this issue which plagues every mind. The so called troubles are your own creations which you have forgotten and never bothered to keep pace with. Let me give you some examples here. Have you asked for a very good husband or a child or a job from God? If the answer is yes then you are sure to know that after having received the gift from Him, these problems have cascaded. Take the case of marrying a great guy. You asked for it and God gave you that. But did you know it does not come in a single package but a host of packages. Marriage is not an end of it. You have asked for everything connected with that man. His dirty habits, his uncouth behavior, his parents, his relatives, his job, his affairs, his kinky behavior, his hobbies, his children and so on. The list is endless. You think it ends at his death or yours? No way! You have asked not only for this life but lifetimes of it since you are now karmically linked with his destiny forever. Remember the rule of karma! What you sow you shall reap, what you take you shall give back. So if you have been slapped by him, in some life or the other you will have to slap back to him. So just because of this silly want of yours you have to be in that ghouls company for lives together. Now you have asked for a child. Yes, the child smiles and brings joy into your life but does it not bring enough misery and troubles too? Her affairs, her tantrums, her education, fights, diseases, marriages and what not are now connected to you alone. Now let us turn towards a dream job that you so much desired. It has now turned nightmarish and your boss is the greatest villain in your life or is it your subordinate or colleague? When you started you had a great salary, but now your salary sucks and when you asked for a raise, you boss promptly shows you this years performances and some vague mails on cost cuts or redundancy!

Now you tell me why did you ask for such frivolous stuff from God in the first place?

You will say that, no one ever told me about it so why should I suffer for it now?

You are too naive or just dumb if you ask such a thing. You know it damn well, there are no freebies in this world. Nothing comes without any attachment to it. The cool law of karma is very difficult to decipher and know. Your mother always told you when you were small never to take anything from strangers and never steal! The little messages of our childhood are forgotten when we grew up. God is everywhere. God always keeps a watch on you. God is benevolent and gives you whatever you ask from Him. See, the pile of petitions he receives everyday! Now when he sanctions he also asks for what you can give Him back! Nothing comes free, remember!

Now that you have understood everything here, let me tell you that there is always a way out of this mess. Just like there are answers to all the questions with someone. Here too, the answers are with that someone whom we call as the Master or Preceptor or Guru or Spiritual Teacher. He shows you the way out of this tangle and takes you on the path of liberation. That kind of liberation which will never get you back another life to redeem all those coupons that you have with you of karma. When you have a free coupon of a simple coffee, you have to visit the outlet and also ask for some more stuff to get that free coffee, right? In the same way to redeem all your karma's you need another few million lives and that causes more billing of karma in your name.

So it is high time you stopped this recharging of your accounts continuously and once and for all have a terminable pack which gives you sufficient talk time but does not add to your billing. So now start your search for this elusive Master who can show you the path towards liberation. Hope He finds you soon. Don't ask from Him some silly stuff again. Focus!!! Just tell Him that you only want freedom and liberation from this silly merry-go-round of lives. Be very humble and show that you actually need this knowledge. Don't ever go with a high and mighty airs of yours to Him. Keep your stupid ego outside just the way you leave your shoes outside when you visit a temple.
