St. Valentine's Day!
St. Valentine's day is celebrated with gifts and words, hugs and kisses and on the other side by protests and boycotts. Why are these days controversial, just like the books which cause an ire with some folks?
Everyone has an opinion about everything. Be it religion or sex! People are ready to take up cudgels for or against them. So what makes a good copy or a best seller? Controversy! So let's try to drum up some controversial topics here. Valentines day was never meant to stir up any passion other than love but it caused hatred amongst people. Surely, hatred is the alter ego of love and it is going to be around. Just like the enemies enemy is your friend, so also, every book full of love is creating hatred too and it sells! Take for example our own Ramayana. Everyone opposing it is out to kill Shri Ram, without any idea what He is all about. Similarly every other opportunist wants to sell books on subjects which can cause heartburns.
The root cause of all problems is ignorance. People read other writers and write quoting them. Do you believe those writers are true, even if they are great philosophers? Just like a critic cannot say about any subject in firsthand experience but can only criticize. He is good at criticism but not good at creating some stuff which he criticizes.
So it is mentioned, you can only tell the taste of an orange, if you have actually tasted an orange and not by conjectures.
Half baked knowledge can cause so much of a problem. When we are reading great books like The Exegesis Of Soul, you are sure to make errors of judgements of thinking that this holy book is just pornographic. Just because it talks about sex, whoring, spreading legs or sleeping around and so on! But Paul in His letters writes that we have to see all these things in the light of spiritualism. Then alone will you know the truth. But for the common man who hasn't tasted the fruit, will believe it is sexually explicit matter.
Ramayana or The Holy Bible are codices which only a few can crack. These are Holy books too since they contain many such truths. These are spiritual texts which can be understood only by few knowledgeable people. These are called sages or saints. Others raking controversy cannot come closer to the truth since they are superficial in knowing the truth.
Just for your understanding let me give one example here. The epic Ramayana is all about you alone. Just see, the fathers name was Dashrath, which in Sanskrit means 'ten chariots!' By that Valmiki is talking about ten horses. These ten chariots are the five sense organs and five organs of action! The Ram in you uses this body provided by Dashrath. The Ram is the God in you. Spiritual books are not about any physical stuff but only related to spirit. When someone who has no clue about the spirit or atma, talks about it, is creating controversy.
Only the sages could talk on such issues since they could tell you the truth about it. Paul was talking about this spirit alone. But common people talk about the same topic as sexual. The start of the pages speak about sages describing the human soul as a female and all acts in the material world as whoring. It's all about lust and greed for the material. Every human being is full of desires for the material world. We sell our bodies, mind and soul for material comforts.
So only a true sage can talk about such esoteric books as Ramayana or Bible. A common man is just a critic without any first hand knowledge. Knowing love like St. Valentine is an impossible task for a man who cannot understand divine love. He can only talk about lust and greed alone.
